Boatyard & Marina Pump-out Systems

Pump Out

The pressures on marina operators are increasing, from customers looking for better facilities, local authorities looking for possible revenue from improved facilities, and people looking for a cleaner environment.

The majority of marinas offer at the very least, fresh water, electricity, telephone, fuel and sometimes gas. In spite of increasing awareness, very few offer Sanitation Pump-Out Systems, which would provide an instant solution to major pollution criticisms.

The reasons offered for not installing pump-out equipment include a perceived lack of demand, a fear or lack of understanding of systems and additional equipment and last but not least, cost.

Marina Operators are faced with varying options at present.

Install Equipment Now

Pump Out
  • Basic system to assess demand
  • Mid range facility with capability to be upgraded
  • High specification unit to facilitate all eventualities

Install at a Time in the Future when there is Possibly an Increase in Demand.

  • This option should ALWAYS form part of any planning agenda

Install when Forced to by Legislation

Legislation is imminent therefore it is prudent to consider installing equipment voluntarily, for example, it should be included in plans for future expansion or work. Additionally sufficient area and access to it for an appropriate Pump-Out System should be put aside in the course of any development plans.

When building or redeveloping marinas, operators must consider installing some basic systems, which will allow for future expansion when needed!
